My Five Amazing Things (5AT) - NGS
My Five Amazing Things (5AT) series starts with our (IBM) accomplishment in Next-Gen Sequencing (NGS):
1. Built a workload management system handling 1M genomis jobs for a top genome center
2. Built a storage/file system handling >15PB genomics data from disk to tape archive
3. Set a world record for human genome assembly (37x coverage) under 15min
4. Set a world record for bacteria genome assembly using Hadoop/MapReduce based algorithms
5. Carried out the first multi-variant GWAS analysis on world's fastest supercomputer
